Home Sweet Home
Exploring living spaces
Curated by Paolo Mele, Alessandra Pioselli, Davide Quadrio, Claudio Zecchi.
"Home Sweet Home" is the opening exhibition of the KORA - Contemporary Center recently opened at Palazzo de Gualtieris in Castrignano de 'Greci (Puglia, Lecce).
The exhibition is a reflection on the theme of the house understood not only as a place to live but also as a path of life, a place from which relationships born and develop in time. Here the space thus becomes a place of encounter, surprise and change, where projects and artists from all over the world converge in a close and constantly evolving dialogue.
A place of intimacy but at the same time a place of work; a path of our lives and a place of relationships and hospitality; a place of hybridization of tasks, it is therefore no longer just and necessarily a place of relief. The home also responds to an altered psychological dimension that requires the definition of a new language and new imaginary that move in discontinuity rather than in historical continuity, thus becoming the expression of a new institutional function.
Home Sweet Home intends to be a proposal, a hypothesis, the expression of a cross-generational, cross-media, and multidisciplinary working methodology which, on the basis of different formats, modular and in constant dialogue with each other, gradually aspires to become a way of feeling and thinking the artistic creation.
In addition to the participation of the artists, the exhibition sees the participation of national and international projects with a specific gaze at the so-called South of the world. These spaces are promoters of projects for the recovery and the re-reading of the places and territories they inhabit; they are an expression of inclusiveness and in many cases they are located in inland and rural areas of Central-Southern Italy, in the Mediterranean basin and Atlantic shore.
Home Sweet Home is therefore an ongoing process of reflection and creation that passes through a constant evolution. A project in which space becomes a place for meeting, surprise, and change. Home Sweet Home is an agora, a place where the projects and artists presented become interwoven, a place of dialectic and discoveries.
