The Italian Cultural Institute and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Sao Paulo present the streaming, with Portuguese subtitles, of the film based on the Romanistan project.
It is the story of the journey made by Luca Vitone to retrace the path of Roma and Sinti from north-western India to Italy backwards, from Bologna to Chandigarh. On the trail of a migration that took place between the eighth and fourteenth century, the artist makes an epic and grandiose journey in which personal memories are connected to history.
Romanistan is an articulated project, presented by the Luigi Pecci Center for Contemporary Art in Prato, winner of the fourth edition of the Italian Council (2018), the grant offered by MiBACT that aims at promoting Italian contemporary art in the world. In addition to the film, the Romanistan project includes various publications and exhibition proposals.
The film will stay online until December 11.
