On the occasion of the XVII edition of the Giornata del Contemporaneo sponsored by AMACI - Associazione dei Musei d'Arte Contemporanea Italiani, Mart is hosting Giovanni Morbin who is performing Me for the last time. The performance is inspired by Renato Bertelli’s well-known sculpture Profilo continuo di Mussolini which the Mart has a copy of, in which Il Duce’s head revolves ideally around on its axis in a continuous, circular profile. The performer reworks Bertelli’s futurist iconography and links it up with Mussolini’s declaration of war in 1940. This is the beginning of a tragi-comic action which prompts thinking on the image-real life relationship.
