On the occasion of the seventeenth edition of Giornata del Contemporaneo – the Day of Contemporary Art, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia present “Dante’s Precious Journey”, a photographic exhibition dedicated to the goldsmith's art by the Atelier Percossi Papi.
On the 700th anniversary of Dante's death, Atelier Percossi Papi pays homage to the Supreme Poet by illustrating the journey of Alighieri in the Divine Comedy with jewellery and art objects in an exhibition that shows representative images of the work and some creations of the artist.
The exhibition - created on large cardboard posters set up in the open space outside the building of the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia - illustrates, through a photographic journey, the work of Diego Percossi Papi, work that encompasses both the artistic and creative part as well as a technique deriving from his goldsmith skill. The work created in the goldsmith workshop is presented, alongside sketches of the creations and some jewellery details inspired by the work of the Supreme Poet which will be exhibited in the National Gallery - Royal Palace of Sofia in the spring of 2022.
Since 1966 Diego Percossi Papi has presented his art creations and jewellery in his Atelier in Sant’Eustachio street in Rome, where he has established recognisable school and style using traditional materials and enameling techniques - cloisonné.
