On the occasion of the 17th Day of Contemporary Art, MAMbo - Museo d'Arte Moderna in Bologna offers a Day of studies on art criticism dedicated to Giovanni Maria Accame (1941 - 2011) historian, critic and teacher of art, as well as author of numerous monographs on artists, such as Scanavino, Giò Pomodoro, Pinelli, Uncini, Aricò, Saffaro, Varisco, Iachetti, and curator of several exhibitions including Avanguardia e cultura popolare and Pittura museo città at the Gallery of Modern Art in Bologna, 1975.
From a survey of the literary activity of Giovanni Maria Accame, the Day of studies on art criticism offers not only an overview of the intellectual heritage of the author, but also a testimony of its critical methodological approach accompanied by a reflection on the forms, contexts and possible developments of contemporary art criticism: an opportunity for discussion on the ways in which art criticism offers itself as a line of method for an analysis of the contemporary that looks at the stories that happened not highlighted and is the bearer of essential demands of contemporary society.
The Day of studies on art criticism sees the participation of Claudio Cerritelli, Flavio de Marco, Paolo Iacchetti, Gisella Vismara together with Barbara Casavecchia, Stefano Chiodi, Angela Maderna, Elvira Vannini, Riccardo Venturi.
