On the seventeenth Day of the Contemporary (11 December 2021), the realization of the cultural project "From Beatrice to Cecilia, with the eyes of tomorrow" was considered.
The initiative, organized by Elisabetta Roncati (art consultat) and Michele Fiore (art popularizer), involves the production of a digital exhibition of 15 young artists who intend to show their point of view on a topical issue: the figure of woman as a muse, inspirer and protagonist of art and culture. To do this they will be inspired by two of the most important Italian caryatids in the field of knowledge: Beatrice and Cecilia. On the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri and to honor the city of Milan through an important exponent like Leonardo da Vinci, it was decided to make protagonists some women who have eternalized their name. Beatrice, Dante's muse and guide in the Paradise of the Divine Comedy and Cecilia Gallerani, known as the lady with an ermine, made immortal by the talented hands of Leonardo.
These are just two of many muses of the arts.
Through the past, therefore, we want to tell you what women represent every day. The contemporary art theme is revealed thanks to the choice of an exhibition totally online and accessible for free on the artsteps.com platform.
Furthermore, the project envisages the realization of two long-term objectives: an exhibition in the city of Milan and the printing of a catalog.
To implement the project, a call for artists will open, through which young artists will have to present their artwork, having a maximum size of 40x30 cm (not necessarily unpublished), two-dimensional, of any material, by 2 December 2021. The design of the exhibition will then proceed. It will go online on 11 December 2021 on multiple platforms and social media.
