The MAMbo Project Room returns to play its role as a thematic container that welcomes, reconstructs, tells and enhances the artistic experiences of the Bolognese and Emilia-Romagna area: from 12 May to 4 October 2022, the space hosts the exhibition NO, NEON, NO CRY, curated by Gino Gianuizzi, which attempts a narration of the complex, multifaceted, “disordered” history of the neon gallery in Bologna.

Born in 1981 without a project, without strategy, without budget and without predetermined objectives, neon has been a permanent laboratory, a community for artists, critics and curators and a training place for all the people who collaborated with it.

Through the formula of the wunderkammer, the space of the MAMbo Project Room will be inhabited by works in proliferation, a visual accumulation in which to advance with caution, trying to decipher the individual works and to connect them to the artists.

A sort of complex organism, a community that continues to dialogue, discuss, question and strengthen itself through contamination.
