MACTE is delighted to present to the public 30 works of contemporary art belonging to a private collection.

The selection focuses on several artists who emerged from the Italian art scene in the 1990s.

Through different artistic languages, ranging from sculpture to painting to installation, the works on display embody new critical, playful, and narcissistic approaches that all share a sort of intolerance towards traditional materials and techniques in favor of either desecrating or introspective approaches.

The title refers to the love at first sight that strikes both the collector and the artist through the artwork and tells of their relationships built over studio visits, art galleries, and exhibition spaces in different Italian cities.

The audio guide of this exhibition recounts some episodes related to the works on display; these experiences come directly from the collector’s narratives and some of the exhibition's protagonists.
