In September 1991 Sabina Melesi opened her art gallery in Lecco, inaugurating with a personal exhibition by fellow citizen Tino Stefanoni. Thus a working relationship was born on the basis of a friendship that already bound the artist to the gallery owner's parents met at the end of the sixties. Today, more than 30 years later, the Rette Incidenti exhibition re-presents Stefanoni's work and alongside another artist, also from Lecco by birth, but from another generation. We are talking about Nicolò Tomaini, born in 1989, who grew up in the same city, since he was a child he heard about and saw Stefanoni's works. Having undertaken the work of an artist, he decides to introduce himself to him and show him the search for him. A liking is born immediately, the Master encourages the young artist to the point of wanting to create works with 4 hands! Together they design the stamp of a new "everyday object" that did not exist in Stefanoni's Tables of the 1970s: the smartphone! This object, on the other hand, has always been present in Tomaini's works. The stamp is made but in the meantime Tino Stefanoni falls ill and the 4-handed project unfortunately stops. For the occasion of this exhibition, Tomaini realizes some works with this stamp, they will not have the double signature but will be "Homage to T.S.".
Belonging to a common cultural identity and influenced by the same root of concept, the two artists on display have developed their personal artistic research in the conceptual field: conceptual-metaphysical for Tino Stefanoni, conceptual-neotechnological for Nicolò Tomaini.
Tino Stefanoni's works on raw linen canvas performed in the 1970s with the use of specially designed stamps are presented, as well as a more recent "Untitled", a "Sinopia" and a bronze sculpture.
By Nicolò Tomaini you will be able to see works from the following cycles: Caricamenti, Portrait of lovers, Silicio, Mirrors and an early career work.
The setting up of the works on display puts the two artists in dialogue who, like straight incidents, met at a certain point in their journey ...
