The Peruzzi Collection is composed of over two hundred serial works of contemporary Italian art, collected starting from 1980. The artists were selected on the basis of their effective international recognition and the organic nature of the area to which they belong, in order to satisfy the project of collection: to represent in an exhaustive way the Italian movements and artists who are at the highest levels for originality and proactive ability compared to the panorama of the international avant-gardes from the second half of the twentieth century. The works have been carefully selected on the basis of their quality and the representativeness of the artist.
In 2017 the Collection moved from Milan to Tarquinia in the Peruzzi House Museum at the Piane del Marta whose furnishings consist of a representative collection of the history of modern furniture with the works of the most important architects of the international modern movement: Le Corbusier, Wright, Jacobsen, Rietveld, Van Der Rohe, Castiglioni, Mollino, Frattini, Mari, Sapper, De Lucchi, Wegner, Ponti, Thonet, Magistretti, Ingrand, Starck.
The collection includes the most important serial works by informal Afro, Burri, Capogrossi, Fontana, Vedova, conceptual Agnetti, Manzoni, Parmiggiani, pop Baj, Rotella, Spoldi, sculptors Consagra, A. Pomodoro, programmed Bonalumi, Calderara, Castellani, Colombo, Munari, Varisco, of the poor Anselmo, Boetti, Calzolari, Fabro, Kounellis, Merz, Paolini, Penone, Pistoletto, Prini, Zorio and of the last generations Beecroft, Bonvicini, Botto & Bruno, Cattelan, Marisaldi, Perino & Vele, Vitone.
A page dedicated to the relationship between autism and art, edited by the support teacher Roberta Straniero, who specializes in supporting autistic children, has recently been added to the site.
The Collection, as well as being always open for free by appointment, carries out a non-profit activity of dissemination and promotion of contemporary Italian art, with particular reference to the multiplied work, through the organization of exhibitions, seminars, presentations and support for teaching activities.
Attached to the Collection is a library specializing in modern and contemporary art, which can also be visited free of charge by appointment, which includes the catalogs of the multiple works of the main contemporary Italian and foreign artists.
The Peruzzi Collection is the demonstration that, even with modest means, it is possible to realize a great passion in a cultural project that contributes to the characterization and promotion of contemporary Italian art.
The Collection, for its planning, organicity and rigor of the choices, is one of the absolute reference points for collecting serial works.
