The CAPPA association, Center for Archiving and Promotion of Performing Art, presents the re-performance by Maestro Franco Summa entitled: A rainbow painted on the sea | 45 years later, which will take place in Pescara, in Piazza Caduti del Mare on 08.10.2022, between 16.00 and 19.00.
The project by Ivan D'Alberto, artistic director of the Archiving and Promotion Center of the Performing Art of Pescara, provides for a reproduction of the choral performance which, on April 24th 1977, the master Franco Summa staged in Pescara, placing, along a section of the beach, 24 easels with relative blank canvases, inviting 24 personalities operating in the national and international art system, to paint the 24 canvases monochromatically, based on the tonal scan specified by the artist himself.
The work, which transformed the "FACT" of the white canvases into the "THOUGHT" of the colorful canvases, lasted the needed time for the participants to complete the action.
The choral performance, 45 years after its first staging, will keep untouched the concept, the number of easels and of attendees, only the location will be different, that is the perimeter area of the square designed by Maestro Franco Summa, dedicated to The Dead at and located in Pescara Portanuova.
The project, sponsored by the Summa Foundation and the Municipality of Pescara, will take advantage from a partnership with some protagonists of the neighborhood life, such as the Spazio Sei gallery, directed by Isa De Luca and the "Torre dei Venti" Association, as well as students of the Liceo Artistico e Coreutico MIBE of Pescara.
The action wants to be an opportunity to inspire the sense of belonging to this part of the city and to feed the care and protection of the common space.
