The exhibition “Systema Naturæ # 2” is part of a trilogy that On the Contemporary —in the Garden addresses to Nature. Interpreters are Zaelia Bishop, Riccardo Cristina, Iginio De Luca, Sebastiano Guerrera, Anne-Clémence de Grolée, Nélida Mendoza, Diego Miguel Mirabella, Rachel Morellet, Simoncini.Tangi, Silvano Tessarollo, Caterina Sbrana, Philippe Terrier-Hermann, Elham Shafaei.
Carl von Linné's "Systema Naturae - per Regna Tria Naturae, secundum classes, ordines, genera, species, cum characteribus, differentis, synonymis, locis" was first published at the beginning of the Swedish naturalist's stay in the Netherlands (1735 -1738). The work roughly describes the author's ideas about the hierarchical classification of the natural world, dividing it into animal (Regnum animali), vegetable (Regnum vegetabile) and mineral (Regnum lapideum) kingdoms. In this framework, the classification of animals included among the primates from the beginning man (such as Anthropomorpha).

As many distinctions and classifications "according to classes, orders, genera, species, with characteristics, differences, synonyms, places" are made by the 13 artists, who have translated them into works and declined, also through the preparation of appropriate cards, for an articulated project conceived by Anna Guillot specifically for the On the Contemporary garden-house in Caltanissetta.
Video, sound, photography, book form, different media including traditional, these are the formats of the works, with the underlying intention of capturing the multiple relationships that nature places with man, or with the alleged "prevalent subject", which has now become "dominant". Sometimes an explicit protagonist in other undeclared ones, man in fact weaves and defines, on the present occasion as in current reality, the conjugations of his own existence with respect to a complex habitat whose reconsideration (re-determination) cannot be postponed.

At the end of the cycle of exhibitions, a catalog edited by Tyche will collect excerpts of texts by Carl von Linné, critical reflections by Paolo Emilio Antognoli, notes by Anna Guillot and the artists.

The book form, present in the project, derives from a joint research with the Koobook archive.
