For the 18th edition of the Giornata del contemporaneo for the first time Paola Cassola opens the doors of her new studio-atelier in Tuscany. The artist will offer an inedit view of her new works inspired by Italy and she will be available for a conversation and to explain the projects she produced in Chile, Brasil, Japan, Mongolia and Florida. Paola Cassola is a multimedia artist whom, after 12 years in Latin America and more recently in Miami, has now moved to work in Pietrasanta (Italy). She graduated from Goldsmiths College in London, with a dissertation on the diary and photography and with the making of 'In The Middle' a documentary on the life of a transgender Japanese teenager. Cassola also studied Performance\Ation Art at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage in Rio de Janerio (Brasil). Her practice moves between the visual arts ( installation, video, photography, etc) and the use of the body and the action. She has practiced dance (ballet, jazz, modern, contemporary) and drama (in the United States and in Italy). Her investigation has always been shaped around a sustainable art practice and multidisciplinary projects: ranging from workshops to group meditation and choreographies.
