Dryphoto contemporary art has begun a cataloguing system of its archive and right during the Contemporary Day organized organized by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums) the Archiviando project continues, within which some parts of the archive will be available to the public.
On the occasion of this day it will be possible to consult the very first photographic campaign created by some of the associated partners of Dryphoto, Journey through football in search of total photography: a photographic research conducted between 1978 and 1979, made up of over 130 black and white prints, selected from around 3000 snapshots, telling the story of the cheering world of football in Prato. In the images, football is observed in its many and varied aspects; from the “spontaneous” one in the makeshift grass, mud or squares, sometimes using church doors as goal, to the more "structured" and institutional one.
Archiving is an opportunity to open the archives of the Prato gallery with images, invitations, posters and documents that have accompanied this long adventure in the world of images since 1977.
The history of Dryphoto - which at the beginning was defined as a center of culture and technique of the mechanical image - tells an important part of the history of photography, right from the beginning when it promotes and follows what will later be referred to as the Italian School of Landscape (with Luigi Ghirri , Olivo Barbieri, Guido Guidi, Vittore Fossati, Giovanni Chiaramonte, Fulvio Ventura, Andrea Abati, Vincenzo Castella, Marco Zanta and others).
Numerous artists have been exhibited in the gallery, some young beginners and others already established, always with the intention of combining emerging photographers with the most famous names.
