Saturday 8 October, as part of the 18th Contemporary Day promoted by AMACI, Prisma Studio presents Postcards from Ukraine by Sieva Diamantakos
a video-installation created with published and unpublished material from the film, conceived by the director specifically for this occasion.

GROUP SHOW - OPEN STUDIO: Parallel to the presentation of Sieva Diamantakos's work, a collective exhibition in open studio mode is visible with: Enzo Cacciola, Francesca Capra, Eleonora Chiesa, Loredana Galante, Jerome Lechevalier, Massimo Palazzi and Mona Lisa Tina. The exhibition was created through direct dialogue with the artists who collaborate with Prisma Studio.

The film is a documentary about the crisis in Ukraine. Filmed in 2014, and released in 2016, Postcards from Ukraine is a journey into the heart of a country that already at the time, after the proclamation in 2014 of the independence of the Donbass, was experiencing an excruciating internal conflict: on the one hand, the pro-Western West and proud of the street Revolution
Maidan, on the other hand, is geographically, linguistically, culturally close to Russia, proud of its independence, convinced that it is fighting against the country’s fascist drift. After traveling all over Ukraine, Sieva chose to focus on five young characters whose lives have been profoundly influenced by the political events that have taken place in the country. The five protagonists come from
from various cities and have different backgrounds. The documentary features events, such as the referendum for the independence of the Donbass region and the national presidential elections, all of which have led to the winds of war in Ukraine. And then there is the influence of mass propaganda that completes the context in which the characters move.
From the outskirts of Donetsk, to the separatist camps of Lugansk, to the checkpoints in Mariupol and Crimea, to the rich properties of the oligarchs in Kharkhiv, to the still occupied Maidan Square in Kiev. Postcards from Ukraine represents an overview of the new generation of Ukraine; values, dreams and roles they play in
this great European crisis.
