Giulia Andreani, an Italian artist living in Paris and guest of the 16th Biennial of Contemporary Art of Lyon, tells about her own research story within the week dedicated to the 18th Italian Contemporary Art Day.
Giulia Andreani repurposes personal memorabilia and archival photographs through painting to address forgotten histories, often through a feminist lens.
Giulia Andreani works with a very restrained colour palette, nearly exclusively composed of Payne’s grey, which tint looks like watercolour finish. This colour gives her works the impression of facing with an historical document, creating a link between painting and old photography, between Story and the stories her works suggest.
