Free visits by reservation to Franco Summa's home-studio on Saturday 8 October from 9.00 to 13.00 on the occasion of the Contemporary Day promoted by AMACI - Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums, which for eighteen years has involved museums, foundations, public and private institutions, galleries, studios and artist spaces to tell the vitality of contemporary art in our country.
The event is organized by the Summa Foundation and by the Superintendence of archeology, fine arts and landscape of the provinces of Chieti and Pescara to promote knowledge of Franco Summa's works inspired by the theme of environmental art, which has found a specific field of intervention in urban spaces. .
Since 2020 the studio-house of Franco Summa, who passed away in 2019, has been recognized as an asset of cultural interest by the Regional Commission for Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture, since this place - according to the motivation of the decree - is of particularly important interest for a dual function: to enhance and protect the artist's activity, to awaken in the memory the many salient moments dedicated to city life that saw in Franco Summa an attentive and sensitive artist. Among the colors of contemporary art, on the rediscovery of the relationship "art and environment" in relation to the data of natural and urban architectural contexts, Franco Summa was able to create an idea of beauty and give the city an innovative interpretation once to the enhancement and recovery of urban space.
