"The artists' home can become a place and an art proposal. Today this trend, as I noted in 'Fyinpaper', is a phenomenon that is spreading more and more. These private environments, which - open to the outside - can become alchemical places of philosophical and imaginal existence. I myself, not very interested in exhibiting in generic personal exhibitions, in recent decades have transformed my bedrooms into art environments and apartments into art houses: in Rome and in Catania. These moments always have the Bedroom as their epicenter, animated by the colors of Desire and the presence of the Dream "(From my interview with A. Sette, 'Globalist', 2022).

The Camera del Campaldino, in Rome, was my first bedroom that I conceived in 1989-91 as a creation-environment, specifically white. He wants to live in white: walls and furniture; carpets and furnishings; written pages and small aerial compositions. And then, my oval paintings with ropes and fragments of fabric, a veiled head of a polystyrene doll, a veiled mosquito net that wraps, starting from the ceiling, my round bed.
"Going back to the" memory "of white finds its culmination in Conte's research into the encroachment between art, environment and design carried out in 1990 and materialized in the décor of his own bedroom" (I. Millesimi, La Pittura in Italia - Il Novecento / 2 1945-1990, Electa, 1993).

Chioda is my art house, in Rome in the San Lorenzo district, from 1998 to 2003. As an art space, it hosts, in 1999, a large exhibition on Scripture-Desire, curated by me, sponsored by the Municipality of Rome and Campi Salentina. My work-environment is my Bedroom, to which I offer a red rose, between the pillows, on the white sheets of the unmade bed, with hand-marked pages and a poster. This has the image of a naked woman's body, written by me as a page of desire.

On June 24, 2022, I organize a dinner event for the opening of my Artist's House in Rome. I present my dolls of desiring alchemy, who live in my bedroom, which has been transmuted into an art environment. My round bed is the dominant presence of the room, around which the presences of Dream and Desire move creatively. Dolls become witch-women animators of love.
The event unfolds among works of art and masks, fantastic images and writings, sculptures by Pino Conte (my father), plush puppets. Everything takes place in the rooms of the house and in the terrace-garden, which has a gazebo among the plants. This is an open container of "dispersed art", hosting forex panels with writings on walls and crossings of past works.
