A conversation between MAC’s artistic director, Francesca Guerisoli, the artist and the designer starting from the work "Adele-C and ABC" (Video, 1’09’’), commissioned by Adele Cassina to Giuseppe Stampone in 2012, part of the large project "Global Education" which the artist has been carrying on since 2004.

In 2012 Giuseppe Stampone was called on to interpret Adele-C’s philosophy in one of his primers. It was used as a theme of a hypothetical 60s/70s style advertising Carosello. The letters which make-up the name of the company became the idea to tell its identity in the artist’s drawings thanks to slogans and references to the story of Adele, to the values of design, and to the interpretation of human and personal experience as a way of communicating one’s lifework.

Adele Cassina is the Adele-C’s founder, a design firm that was active from 2009 to 2019 in Brianza at Villa Antona Traversi in Meda. She resumes the tradition inaugurated by her father Cesare who was one of the first entrepreneurs of Italian design furniture. Designer-artists are called on by Adele Cassina to help contribute to the creation of the brand’s universe, made up of home furnishings and accessories in which design is joined by an original component: alongside a pleasing iconic quality is a bold element which amplifies the functionality of the objects in a surprising manner. During this event, will be presented the book "Cronache minori dalla periferia del design" (Corraini, 2021), by Adele Cassina and her daughter Chiara Rodriquez and edited by Francesca Picchi.


Giuseppe Stampone’s primers are ones of his most famous works. Some of the series, with other representative works of his research, are shown from the 13th of October 2022 to the 29th of January 2023 in the exhibition “Personale Connettivo” organized at MAC (inauguration: Wednesday 12th October from 6.30 p.m.).

Stampone proposes a kind of “new literacy” in the primers which is founded on the fracture between images and words. It is often in ironic and sarcastic key, and he uses a participatory method to achieve it that is revisited and adapted to each new edition.

Giuseppe Stampone combines the drawing to the participatory practices and to the use of new media for the creation of networks on large scale. MAC’s exhibition path tells his work, proposing a selection of his most famous works realized from 90s until today: maps, boards, site-specific installations, videos, and documentation of artistic educational projects. On the occasion of MAC’s exhibition, the artist leads a new edition of "Global Education" with the students of Istituto G. Meroni in Lissone. "Welcome to Lissone" is the title of the “lissonese” primer which is going to be exhibited at the museum.
