Saturday 8 October at 7 p.m. - on the occasion of the 18th Giornata del Contemporaneo (Day of the Contemporary) promoted by AMACI - Art & Talk, a dialogue with the artist Sandro Bracchitta at Lo Magno artecontemporanea Modica. Admission free

The event has been created as a collateral event to the artist's solo exhibition "Unda Mater", on display in Modica in the spaces of the same gallery from 1 October to 19 November 2022, curated by Giuseppe Lo Magno and Niccolò Nisivoccia.

The journey: The arrival and the departure, the before and the after, a binomial that structures the life of every living being. An eternal unbalance that draws nourishment from the time continuum and from which we know we cannot escape.

Sandro Bracchitta's installation introducing the "Unda Mater" exhibition is a sheet metal shell with the sparkling – and eloquent – soul of the gold of a thermal blanket.

Ten canvases and a boat to talk about travel, the sea, silent abysses and sunny drifts, escapes and landings, desperation and salvation. Regeneration. Not cradle rocking but balances in perpetual movement, contemporary bewilderment.

Conceived as a choral work, Sandro Bracchitta’s "Unda Mater" will be read in its entirety by art critic Ivan Quaroni, author of an essay in the catalogue that will be presented at the finissage.
