Descrizione

The conference subject is meant to be a conversation about the importance between art and mobility, an opportunity to talk about and narrate how travel and interaction with communities represent a decisive key in the development of artistic research, both in the academic and professional stages. A way to look at the practices and development of an artwork outside the walls of a studio, investigate the critical implementation and ethical issues that travel leads to and finally understand what opportunities artistic practice as a tool for exploration can offer on an individual and collective level.

Fabio Roncato (Rimini, 1982) lives and works in Milan.
After graduated in painting at Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Roncato has completed his path of education by attending several residencies in Italy and abroad, these includes: the Atelier Bevilacqua La Masa (Venice), VIR-Via Farini (Milan), Fondazione Spinola Banna per l’Arte (Banna, Turin), Jan van Eyck
Academie (Maastricht) and the Shanghai Prize at the East China Normal University (Shanghai).
In the artworks that are part of his recent study, Roncato develops a reflection related to the boundaries of the visual representation by exploring forms, elements, and energies of nature and contemporaneity; the idea
is to lead the artistic practice within the critical relationship between the understanding of reality and the limits imposed by the perception of the senses. The work shaped itself spontaneously in an unpredictable way each time. Imagination plays a decisive role in this practice.
His works have been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in private galleries, independent spaces and museum institutions in Italy and abroad? including: Fulgura et fossilia, curated by Ilaria Bignotti,
Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali, Brescia (2021), Italian Twist, curated by Elisa Carollo and Mattia
