On the occasion of Giornata del Contemporaneo, saturday October 7th 2023, the first one-man show in Turin by the Ligurian artist Riccardo Bandiera, curated by Francesca Canfora. The exhibition offers a selection of some of the artist's most significant photographic projects gathered around the title "Where you cry and you don't know che”, a phrase that does not present a theme, but rather suggests an atmosphere: it alludes to the refined but never redundant poetics of Bandiera's works. Melancholy, suspended atmospheres, underwater visions and his unmistakable swimmers depicted as nymphs or poetic muses: the chosen subjects of Riccardo Bandiera's photographs are often evanescent. In addition to the "Hiraeth" and "Atlas over arteries" series, on display are also some unpublished works from the "Nantes Lubricis Pelagi" project, whose artistic research is still in progress.
Riccardo Bandiera born in 1973 lives in Liguria.
