The first contribution titled Let's Introduce Shape Arts! places the theme of disability art at the center and intends to be the prelude to a focus on the relationship between art and society, which will be the main theme covered in CREA's 2024 programming.
Through audiovisual media, interviews, workshops, publications and on-site installation interventions, the exhibition tells the story and journey of Shape Arts, a London-based cultural organization founded on the principle that disabled people should have the opportunity to participate fully in culture both as artists and as audiences.
The exhibition curated by David Havey and Pier Paolo Scelsi offers an excursus on the recent narrative path, research and artistic production of Shape Arts, narrates its mission, the careful sensitivity that guides its practices, the promotion of art as an agent of social consciousness, inclusive knowledge and learning.
