Can a white painter paint a black Christ? In times of political correctness, the question is a must. Alfonso Siracusa Orlando responded with an exhibition dedicated to the simulacrum of a church in Siculiana, in the province of Agrigento: so black as to induce a group of non-EU citizens from the first reception center to become interested, integrating, in the customs of a foreign and perhaps hostile land. The volume, with texts by the director Luca Lucchesi and the critic Dario La Mendola, is a pictorial journey between reality, dreams and a future tomorrow through the celebrations of this Sicilian Christ.
