Morning light. Light that comes in through the windows of my studio. Light that allows you to see every single color transition, every faintest nuance.

Light is the title of the exhibition. I dedicated this series to light. But Light is not only light, it is also lightness, as the English term I strongly intended suggests.

Light works, floating, as if suspended.

After a troubled period of deep darkness, of pain and suffering they mark a rebirth, a re-emergence from darkness, a newfound peace.

The surface of the canvas is my light.

The white of the backgrounds, contaminated by a pink glare, becomes space, is interrupted by horizontal smears of dark green, in which one can read a deliberate misdirected brushstroke, with sudden changes of direction.

A gestural work of subtraction that leaves a residual trace of what is no longer there.

The absence of the removed color remains. Leaving its indelible mark, it allows the work to sublimate, to find the point, to ascend.

Balance in imperfection, alternating between darkness and shimmer, loss and pacification.
