The studio visit will be open to the public on the occasion of the Giornata del Contemporaneo promoted by AMACI, saturday October 7th.
My work is inspired by documenting the contemporary urban space, from wide open architectural spaces to the gentle flow of people on the streets. The urban and rural landscape is the protagonist of my simple geometric compositions which consist of layers of fragmented structural planes.
Photography is my instrument to investigate and rapidly capture the world around me, the street, the escalators, train stations, everyday life. I am interested in the communication between the actors who enter the scene of the theatre of life, the passer-by. It is a sociological study that sees individuals closing themselves into their own private spheres where distance becomes ever too present.
I experiment with a range of media from photographic transfer, collage, paint and printmaking, working on a variety of supports from canvas, wood and oxidized metals.
