With the personal exhibition of Alex Pinna "TIME" the Museo di Archeologia of the Università di Pavia adheres to the Nineteenth Giornata del Contemporaneo promoted by AMACI - Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani: Saturday 7 October there will be a special free opening to the public from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m..

The exhibition of Alex Pinna, Artist and Professor of Sculpture at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, open to the public from 4 October to 18 November 2023, is curated by Vittorio Schieroni, Critic and Curator of Contemporary Art, Anna Letizia Magrassi Matricardi, Curator of the Museum, Paolo Campiglio, Professor of History of Contemporary Art in the Humanities Department of the University. Initiative with the patronage of the Comune di Pavia.

A selection of sculptures by Alex Pinna will find themselves in dialogue with archaeological finds dating back to different periods of history and representative of different civilizations of the Mediterranean basin. In the spaces of the Museum, the Lapidarium of the Loggetta Sforzesca and the University Art History Library, the exhibition itinerary will be articulated through references and analogies, contrasts and harmonious contrasts in a close interaction between ancient and contemporary.

The exhibition is part of the "Incontri d'arte" organized by the Museo di Archeologia, which started in 2018, with the aim of involving some artists in a dialogue with the evocative spaces of the Museum and with the precious exhibits kept. The cycle of meetings, curated by Anna Letizia Magrassi Matricardi and Paolo Campiglio, under the supervision of the Director of the Museum, Maurizio Harari, who will attend the vernissage together with Vittorio Schieroni and the artist, is an opportunity for the University and the world of contemporary creativity.
