The talk 'Orbits. A Journey Along the Margins of Milan' is an event of the Milano Centrale Festival. and will take place on
saturday, october 7th on the occasion of the Giornata del Contemporaneo.
Modifying while being modified by the landscape. Seeking a narrative of Milan different from that conveyed by mass media. Photography used as a simple means and never as an end. These seem to be the fixed points around which the poetics of the two authors develop. Rafa Jacinto and Davide Mari did not want to photograph just the city but to undertake a journey. First comes walking as an artistic practice, then the visual restitution. This project appears to reconcile two different approaches, pursued individually by various artists in the decades before, with the photographic medium as the protagonist. On one hand, the desire to document the landscape and its transformations, on the other, traversing the territory through performative practices.

From October 6th to 8th, 2023, a widespread art exhibition will take place, aiming to promote and valorize artistic culture and contemporary art while revitalizing the neighborhoods that extend from Milan's Central Station along the Martesana canal, enhancing their identity and that of an art community already present and active in the area. Milano Centrale Festival is a project by Chippendale Studio, with the artistic direction of art critic Luca Panaro, in collaboration with the Centrale Fotografia Association of Fano and with the support of Municipio 2 - Municipality of Milan.
