The Valenzi Foundation has never proposed itself as an entity merely commemorating the figure of Maurizio Valenzi. Starting from his artistic passion, which marked his life, we have always carried out activities in the field of figurative arts, hosting collective and personal exhibitions. For years we have participated in the Day of the Contemporary, promoted by AMACI. This year we can celebrate it with a true "contemporary" artist, in the sense of current, modern.
Ludovico Maria Fusco is a fine painter. He comes from Naples and the 1970s, a period of full ferment. But he is completely absorbed in the contemporary and especially in pictorial art. He has a strong background from his profession as an architect, elements of which can be seen especially in landscape painting.
Contemporary art historian Antonella Basilico has written about him: "The artist succeeds with deep sensitivity in expressing, in a form that emphasizes the values of the landscape, the wonderful relationship that has been created over time between the original form of the land and its incessant modifications. He understands the landscape as true earth writing, a layered script, a palimpsest of overlapping signs, some almost erased, others reinforced, sometimes gathered into serene and rational ensembles where spatial scales combine with temporal scales and to historical depth in a system of signs to be decoded".
