dedicated to the exhibition of a series of unpublished small-format sculptures that, gathered under the title "for an ecology of art" around the theme proposed for the present edition of the GDC, document, ten years after his death, a central aspect of Adriano di Giacomo's research and simultaneously the Collection of the Adriano Di Giacomo Documentation Notebooks made for the Days of the Contemporary (2013 - 2023).

Adriano Di Giacomo's artistic career developed through themes and cycles - starting from “Territori” (1988, presentation by Mario Ursino), to “Controspazi” (1989, presentation by Vito Apuleo), to “Spazi Complessi” ( 1990, presentation by Fulvio Abbate), to “Dimensioni” (1991, presentation by Gabriella Dalesio), to “Ossimori” (1993, presentation by Natale Antonio Rossi), to “Disgregante/Aggregante” (1993, presentation by Arianna Di Genova) , to “Evolutions and passages” (1993, presentation by Barbara Martusciello) - on the ambiguous complexity of systems, up to “Hyperthermia” (1993-1995, with the presentation by Giorgio Bonomi, Ivan Simonini and Julia Mèszàros), in which alongside the large canvases, the "Memory Boxes" were introduced, wooden structures and painting, which assemble in incongruous fragments the shattered unity of an urban cosmos with an apparent modular order, which returns in the "sculptures" with pictorial interventions, up to the installations in spaces closed or open (“Last watch shift”, 1999) and in general to the new works covering the period 1998-2012, in which the use of forex, polycarbonate and red tubes – “Policarbonati” (2005) – combined then to digital photography – from “Giustizia nel Chiostro” (2000, presentation by Guglielmo Gigliotti), to “Pandora Container” (1997, Rome; 2003, Cascia; 2014, Rome, presentation by Emidio De Albentiis) to the last “Fragmenta urban/persistenze” (2011, presentation by Antonella Pesola, as part of Opus&Light, Spoleto) - establish the arrival in the reduction to the essential constituents of being and think, in the rarefied and "protected", separate silence of the frame/box, which recovers a material and a process already used by the artist in the early 1980s.


On display is the Collection of Adriano Di Giacomo Documentation Notebooks created for the Giornate del Contemporaneo (2013 – 2023).

The Exhibition opens in presence on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in the Studio Research and Documentation space at 16/B Poerio Street.
