Known for his distinctive graphic compositions, Ponzi creates contemporary scenes that become the background for satirical reflections on the world. The artist has the ability to evoke strong emotions through elegant and bold work with both pen and brush. His conceptual and at the same time ironic and poetic style is recognizable by the clarity of his representational technique, full and surreal colors contained in elegant and invisible lines. Having absorbed the lessons of the great American figuration of the 20th century and created his own path in painting and illustration, Ponzi simplifies his images through the use of symbolism that communicates beyond language and culture. Glimpses of everyday life, American landscapes and visions of interiors appear in his latest paintings where cuts of light and colors evoke real states of mind.
