The Department of Visual Arts "Officine Arte e Architettura" of the Liceo De Ruggieri in Massafra announces the exhibition project open to network schools - Gravinarte 4.0 - entitled Skyline. This initiative belongs to the 19th Contemporary Art Day, the great national artistic event promoted by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), created with the support of the General Directorate of Contemporary Creativity of the Ministry of Culture, and with the collaboration of the General Directorate for Public and Cultural Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, which has been bringing contemporary art to the general public since 2005. This educational experience will take the form of an open-air urban laboratory designed for your young students and assisted by the artists of the teaching staff of the section. Liceo Artistico De Ruggieri choosing this year the evocative setting of Piazza d'armi inside the Massafra Castle.
The project will see the participation of the Municipality and the third classes of each lower secondary school with which to jointly carry out an artistic laboratory which will have the aim of producing a performance and an environmental installation work in our city. This year too, given the success of previous editions, our school has once again chosen the micro-theme of public art, a useful driver of knowledge and dialogue with the territory to think about the anthropisation of urban spaces to be reborn as containers for youth aggregation. The artists of the teaching staff of the Liceo Artistico De Ruggieri will enter the classes of the network schools, collaborating synergistically with the host colleagues of the artistic subjects, they will conduct an illustrative lesson on contemporary art and in particular on public Art. A workshop will follow aimed at the production of a part of the skyline work. The modular Skyline work is proposed as an environmental and collective installation made with recycled materials designed to represent a surreal ecosystem in which man and nature share a process of ideal coexistence. Repopulating the suburbs is one of the most important bases of urban regeneration of this century, the installation action in this vision becomes social dialogue and a public art operation that reasons on the importance of positive interdependence between man, nature and dreams.
The installation works simultaneously on different levels of reading, functioning differently based on the observer's point of view. View it in zenithal view, i.e. from top to bottom, it returns a large 2D skyline representing a portion of the sky made up of pixels. If looked at from the side, it becomes three-dimensional, consisting of a dense crowd of silhouettes of multi-coloured cardboard men, who look towards the user. Changing perspective, observing the universe and immersing yourself in a game between dream and reality is this year's proposal from the Liceo de Ruggieri to be implemented wit
