The exhibition is a comparative exploration of the works of painting, sculpture, photography and design of eight contemporary artists curated by Fortunato D'Amico.

"The dialectics of Light" is a comparative exploration of the works of eight artists set up in the Arc Gallery spaces curated by Fortunato D'Amico. The exhibition investigates the use of light in contemporary art, one of the main elements in the poetics and artistic communication that characterizes the aesthetics of the millennium, now also boundless in the urban dimension. It is used in different forms to create effects, atmospheres, symbolic meanings, scientific representations of the phenomena that surround us.

The artists involved Bruno Bani, Raffaele Cioffi, Mario De Leo, Daniela Forcella, Pina Inferrera, Giovanni Lombardini, Max Marra and Daniela Pellegrini present their personal interpretative dialectics of the luminous phenomenon, which involves shapes, colours, materials and in some cases systems of lighting used for the production of the work.

Contemporary art has significantly extended the way in which light is used as an expressive means, going well beyond the traditional Caravaggio model of investigation. The introduction of electricity and light technologies has opened up new creative possibilities that have radically transformed the way artists conceive and use light in their productions.

The analysis of luminous dialectics can therefore contain complex areas of interest and interaction, including scientific and environmental phenomena, as well as psychological studies and those on mirror neuron empathy.
Artists, even before scientists, are aware of how the use of light can influence the viewer's emotion and perception of the work of art, or how it can be used to create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility or generate tension and drama.

The dialectics of light which traditionally explores contrasts and dualities through techniques that create depth and contrast such as light/dark, positive/negative, light/shadow, today expands its research to the electrical phenomenon with all its technological, environmental and perceptive implications and cultural identity.
