Descrizione

Video Annotations is a project of the Italian Institute of Culture, in collaboration with the Municipality of Tirana and curated by Stefano Romano, that over three years wants to reflect on the dynamics developed in the research of some of the protagonists of contemporary Italian and Albanian art that have as a common medium the video. As for any other expressive medium, the video also has different approaches and different nuances of language that make it a complex yet very intuitive medium, especially in this historical moment where the idea of the moving image has become an integral part of the constant flow of our experience with the technological interface.
In this constant flow of moving images it becomes increasingly difficult to choose, immobilized by the amount of the offer. For this reason the project is entitled "Video Annotations", to emphasize what each of us notes, brings with it of what he saw. It foresees a time of digestion of what we are looking at, just as the practice of annotation contains a time lag, a deepening, a choice that gives us the opportunity to read reality from a point of view that we would not otherwise have grasped.
The event of 13 October will take place with a screening of a film by the Italian artist Andrea Mastrovito, followed by a dialogue between the artist and the curator of the event, Stefano Romano.
