In Carlo Goldoni’s native house, now a Museum, there is – in both a natural and architectural way– what is for me the scenography of knowledge: a large waterside door, a gate, a well - a magical and dark place to sink and tap into our innermost areas - and the wonderful staircase, symbol of rising and conquering the possibilities of our summits, step by step. Halfway through the stairs, a metaphysical hand comes out of the wall holding a lighted lamp. This is the "Codega" ( back in then Serenissima time it was a civil servant with a lamp who accompanied patricians, wealthy merchants and foreigners throughout the city streets) that each of us is called to be, to enlighten us on the path to becoming first and foremost spiritual tourists of ourselves, committing ourselves to exploring the back and front of our personal masks for a more authentic consciousness and Carnival of our lives.

On the occasion of the 19th Giornata del Contemporaneo, the Codega and its Soul will leave Casa Goldoni, in the Heart of Venice, carrying out a Transhumance of their message in the most touristic circuit of the city, increasingly emptied of inhabitants but full of Tourists who look mainly outside themselves.

The performance will begin at 9.00 pm outside the Casa di Carlo Goldoni Museum in Calle dei Nomboli, then continue - just like a transhumance - through Rialto to Piazza San Marco, and back.
