On the occasion of the 19th Contemporary Art Day, the Italian Cultural Institute of Madrid presents the exhibition 'MI PRENDO CURA DI ME', organised in collaboration with the cultural association Recontemporary.

The leitmotif of Contemporary Art Day 2023 is always the theme of ecology, connected to that of sustainability: global urgencies that confront the need to rethink the contemporary art system through a renewed awareness and a more widespread sensitivity.

Through five video works by Italian artists - Mara Palena, Megan Stancanelli, Lorenzo Peluffo and Fortuna De Nardo in collaboration with Enrico Turletti and Eugenio Nicolella, Rä di Martino and Francesca Lolli - and a sculpture by Aurora Paolillo, the exhibition leads visitors to explore and rethink the relationship between one's own body and the environment: taking care of ourselves is the first step towards taking care of the world around us, marking an inseparable bond between human beings and nature.
The Giornata del contemporaneo (Contemporary Art Day) is the event promoted in Italy and abroad to "tell" a wide audience about the great vitality of Italian contemporary art and the richness of different contemporary languages. The event is promoted by AMACI - Associazione dei Musei d'Arte Contemporanea Italiani, with the support of the Direzione Generale Creatività Contemporanea of the Ministry of Culture, and is also realised abroad thanks to the collaboration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, through the Network of Italian Cultural Institutes and Diplomatic-Consular Representations.

The cultural association Recontemporary is the first space in Italy dedicated exclusively to new media art; it "discovers" and promotes multimedia exhibitions and artists, with particular attention to the experimental nature of new languages, also developing educational projects on contemporary art and digital technologies.
