The Italian Institute of Culture in Dublin is proud to celebrate Italian Contemporary Art Day 2023, a globally recognized event taking place from October 7th to 13th, by showcasing Italian Street Art in Ireland.
Join us for free street art tours scheduled to take place in Dublin from October 10th to 13th and celebrate the week dedicated to contemporary art and the flourishing appreciation of Italian street art in Ireland. These tours are scheduled in English on Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th October and in Italian on Friday 13th October. The tours are free but booking is required via Evnetbrite.
ITINERARY
The meeting point is Proper Order in Haymarket, where the tour will begin highlighting the area's illustrative street art & graffiti, starting with the mural painted by Italian artists Danilo Vadis & Tilf. Leaving Smithfield, we would move toward Church Street and then Ormond Quay.
Following on from the story of a Dubliner character (Billy in the Bowl), we would then make our way to Temple Bar, as this area provides different examples of street art and art installations.
The street art walking tour allows guests to discover and learn some of Ireland's unknown and anonymous talented individuals.
With this tour, guests will see some of Dublin's fascinating and intriguing unknown graffiti artwork at its best and learn everything about the messages and stories behind these beautiful works of art, such as the controversial mural "The Boy on a Horse" by Aches and the "Fish mural" in Temple Bar.
The tour will also provide an opportunity to discover the local culture and stories of some of Dublin's most eccentric characters.
