The project "Rea, borgo degli artisti 1.0" an art exhibition that represents a unique opportunity to transform a small town into a meeting place, exchange and cultural growth through a series of initiatives within the event.
An exhibition programme dedicated to contemporary visual arts and beyond. The artists in the exhibition are compared with other cultural sectors: from art, to fashion special, installations "in site-specific", to performance. During the day, there are active workshops of drawing the neighboring native plants, creative tailoring activities, creative writing, poetic readings and other spontaneous activities of musical type and singing/ other, lived as "free space" in the green context of the surrounding farmhouse where the Library of Genre of Villa Gaia is located.
It will offer insights, stimulate debates on the culture and the most urgent needs of our planet Earth. Each person who will come can contribute by participating actively expressing their vision with total freedom. You will be listened to with pleasure. If you are a person who paints or sculpts, or if you write poetry, or if you know how to knit/crochet, you will be welcome and welcomed by professionals in the field. All for free. We will give you space.
The artists will involve visitors in discussions and activities of creative and performative workshops. Rea, is a small municipality that wants to open up and dialogue with the big cities. For many years it has been active with its Library of Genre Villa Gaia. It has become a center of basic importance for local sociality and beyond. It is necessary to know and participate in the territory. This is the only way to achieve the Re-birth so long awaited by many, so that Rea can be concretely recognized and inserted in our country. Culture must be accessible to all and not just a prerogative of big cities.
There is a need to renew thinking, sensitivity; the differentiation of the works exhibited by the different artists in the exhibition demonstrates this. We need to set a good example for the local community. For the artists who have joined, from different cities, a challenge launched in the ether that must cross the boundary of the small village of Rea, transforming it into an attractive pole of meaning useful to spread new awareness, That it is of fluid access to the circularity of culture, whatever its form, its place, its genre or its characteristic. Social sustainability and intergenerational dialogue should be promoted through creativity and imagination.
