The question posed by the Sphinx makes man reflect on his destiny and on the presumption of trusting too much in himself. As in the myth, the enigmas will be posed through the works of art, as a fascinating labyrinthine path between past and future, until arriving in front of the Tomb of the Sphinx, arousing the curiosity and knowledge of visitors, spectators and actors at the same time . Thanks to a dedicated mechanism, in fact, people can "interact" with the puzzles posed by the works. In this way the same works come to life with spiral paths and spectators can admire them from different angles. The spectator, looking at the works, will project onto them his own vision of courage/fear, of evil/good and of personal anxieties and joys.
Artists:
Jan Incoronato “TRITICUM” (Wheat field: a hundred ears of corn rise forcefully from the ground until they reach 2 meters in height) turns his gaze to Nature which is the most recurring element in his artistic production. The artist reflects on the fact that wheat is considered one of the basic natural elements of human nutrition and is the protagonist on the everyday table of almost all peoples. It satisfies dietary needs by enclosing a symbolic, identity and relational meaning, which goes beyond the nutritional value and the physical need to eat. Ground, kneaded, leavened, transformed, it becomes a transversal element and a silent language between different cultures, encouraging meetings, building bridges and opening up to dialogue.
The Aura “Enigmatic door of the Sphinx”, poem on white canvas in Italian and ancient Greek (language spoken by the Etruscans).
Gloria Lauro "Praesens entis", sculpted from the waist up, the sculpture hides in the depths of the world and plays hide and seek with the human condition.
Federico Paris "Dama" aerodynamic, mysterious, perhaps fallen from the sky. Its black ceramic body stands out among the grass of the lawn. There is no meaning, and like everything that has no meaning amplifies the mystery.
Françoise Marianne Weddigen Jaccard “What is in the tree: Flame, History, Light and Shadow”, 3 sculptures in olive wood, representing its soul.
In conclusion, at dusk, performance by Daniela Corbosiero's Oriental Dance Corps with oriental music. The dancers will come out dancing along the 28 m corridor of the Tomb of the Sphinx to stop in front of the audience, standing in front of the tomb, respecting the limit of at least 2 meters distance.
