The guided tour and a special workshop are open to the public on the occasion of the Twentieth Day of Contemporary A.M.A.C.I., on October 12, 2024, at the Galleria Continua of Studio d'Arte Astrid Nova in Pergine Valsugana, the new exciting retrospective exhibition dedicated to Maria Giovanna Speranza, a well-known artist from Trentino who recently passed away who boasts a curriculum studded with exhibitions in her Trentino, but also outside the region and then overseas; from the MUSE Science Museum of Trento to the Lombardy Region, from the Magnificent Community of Folgaria to Tunis, from Palazzo Thun in the historic center of Trento to Hollywood, Santa Barbara and Pasadena in California.
The exhibition is titled FABLE | FAVOLA, and as the title suggests, exhibits to the public a wonderful selection of masterful works by Speranza with an enchanted and evocative atmosphere, under the careful and meticulous curation of her daughter, also an artist, Viviana Puecher, who today directs the studio and the adjoining exhibition gallery dedicated precisely to her mother.
FABLE | FAVOLA , extended until March 30, 2025, will therefore present a small and precious series of works that go to dissect the theme of the fantastic, the beauty of the extraordinary, often linked to natural landscapes of our territory or Americans; suggestive mountain views and shady lake views thus become fantastic and exciting places that with the artist's skillful pictorial touch tell us stories of distant and magical times.
Connected to the exhibition, the special workshop “Magic Landscape” will also be held in the studio by her daughter Viviana, on the occasion of the Twentieth Day of Contemporary Art, which will accompany the participant in the creation of a small but special watercolor landscape.
Another novelty of this special event will be that alongside the splendid paintings, some precious works in ceramic, glass, and porcelain will also be exhibited, finely hand-decorated by the artist, and the very special miniature catalog of the exhibition will also be produced by Studio d'Arte Astrid Nova and printed in a limited edition.
Perginese by adoption, but originally from Grumo di San Michele all'Adige, Speranza in her artistic work, has often investigated human interiority, dreams, desires, memories and feelings, using the pictorial medium as a means to link these to places that often appear on her splendid canvases, as they were in the past.
Her elegant, dreamy and romantic nature offers moments of times gone by, of which the signs of true beauty and the importance of emotions remain in the memory.
Speranza projects the visitor's imagination, in distant eras, among 19th century ladies and knights, passing through fiery sunsets and enchanted valleys, finally arriving at the evocative landscapes made of mountain huts and refuges of our wonderful territory.
From 2012 Speranza is part of ADAC for MART Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto.
