The Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing will organize a seminar on contemporary art, particularly focusing on the sculpture of the future. We will invite Prof. Gianni Caravaggio, sculptor and professor at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, for a presentation. The aim is to explore the differences and connections between the Western historical perspective, with particular attention to the Italian one, and the Eastern perspective. The seminar intends to bridge the gap between the two cultures, seeking points of contact and mutual inspiration. Through the analysis of poetic concepts present in the artworks of the past from both traditions, the presentation aims to develop a poetic vision of the art of the future.
On this occasion, Professor Chen Hui, director of the Faculty of Sculpture at the Institute of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University (China), will also speak.
The event will be organized by the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing, China-Italy Design Innovation Hub of Tsinghua University in collaboration with the Galleria Civica d'Arte Moderna and Contemporanea di Torino e Fondazione Torino Musei, and with the support of the Management Committee of the Sino-Italian District on Culture and Innovation, Sichuan Normal University.
