The historic abbey of Saints Nazario and Celso in the municipality of San Nazzaro Sesia (prov. NO), hosts the exhibition of contemporary art by the artist Alessandro Abruscato.
It is an evocative look full of symbols that of ABAL, Alessandro Abruscato, which features a personal site specific exhibition that can be visited from 21 September to 21 October, curated by Federica Mingozzi.
During the contemporary day, the artist and the curator will be present on site to involve and bring visitors closer to the exhibition. The exhibition is also accompanied by materials such as room sheets, explanatory material, and audio guides.
The exhibition aims to stimulate visitors' reflection on the internal and daily journey of man, made up of a succession of events: birth, battles, love, sacrifice, spiritual elevation. Everything starts from a "big zero" and with an infinite repetition of infinite births, fights, loves, sacrifices, elevations, it returns at the end of everything, to the beginning, to the "big zero".
According to the artist, this theme unites everyone, men and women of all times, of all beliefs, of all backgrounds: we are all subject to this path, each experiencing it in a unique and personal way.
In the artist's intentions, container and content complement each other: the nine works on display, eight paintings and one installation, were in fact imagined and created starting from the history of the abbey, which tradition says is linked to a medieval and symbolic world. A space where you can breathe a spiritual and peaceful atmosphere, which has often been a source of inspiration for the artist.
Completing the link between the pictorial world of ABAL and this place are the landscapes that evoke a contact with nature, imaginary places where female figures are inserted, bearers, with their sensitivity and pride, of the messages entrusted by the artist.
If the natural element is constantly present in ABAL's works, the great absence is the concept of time: the female figures have a historical location that is difficult to decipher, precisely to symbolize the immutability of the succession of events, always the same at all times.
Glimpses between heaven and earth is ABAL's next exhibition after the recent exhibition at Casa Antonio Ligabue, an artist who strongly inspired the production of Alessandro Abruscato.
