Yared Olivelli’s art exhibition "So Close, Yet So Far" celebrate in Ethiopia the 20th Italian Contemporary Art Day dedicated this year to the theme of accessibility, conceived in a broad way as the breaking down of any cultural barrier, intellectual or architectural, to ensure full access to contemporary culture.

Through this solo exhibition, the well-known artist, who unites our two cultures and teaches figurative arts at Addis Ababa University, explores the new city of Addis Ababa and its sensory and architectural barriers between the past and present. Yared Olivelli masterfully captures, with his unique artistic style, the experiences of several generations who are facing recent urban developments and the challenges that awaits us in the future.
