On the occasion of the 20th Giornata del Contemporaneo, the Fondazione Querini Stampalia is promoting a free guided tour subject to availability (max. 25 places).
Free admission will also be guaranteed throughout the day from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
The Querini Stampalia Foundation is a unique cultural institution in Venice. In the heart of the city, an ancient and noble palace preserves valuable historical collections and works by great contemporary architects.
Ancient and modern, past and present are constantly linked: in the spaces redesigned by Carlo Scarpa and Mario Botta, in the museum, and in the rich library. Numerous echoes of history are reinterpreted in the light of contemporary times.
Environments, collections, archives, and architecture open new perspectives for the visitor, helping them to understand our time in a continuous dialogue between history and the future, as is the nature of this cultural institution.
The visit it is a real and imaginary journey through art, but also through the social history of Venice. Along the way, glimpses of the present appear: contemporary works of art engage in dialogue with ancient collections, offering the visitor new perspectives and revealing unexpected viewpoints.
Experiencing the Querini is about seeing and being, reading or studying, participating, contemplating, and taking time to savor beauty.
In addition to the guided tour through the museum spaces, visitors will have the opportunity to independently visit the exhibition “A Journey to the Infinite: Yoo Youngkuk” curated by Kim Inhye (until November 24, 2024), is part of the Biennale Arte’s Collateral Events. It is the first solo exhibition in Europe of the great Korean artist and the most significant exhibition of his work outside Korea to date. Thirty large oil paintings and twenty copper prints by the artist are on display, along with a series of photographs documenting the evolution of one of Korea’s most important artists. A pioneer of geometric abstract painting, he left an indelible mark on the history of art in Korea.
