Descrizione

The shots exhibited by Serendippo for the Contemporary Day are the outcome of TIMPANO, a photographic workshop featuring a heterogeneous group of disabled young people aged 14 to 19 who participated in the Fuoriserie project (curated by DAS APS, Cooperativa Accaparlante, Serendippo, Leggere Strutture, La Fenice Coop Sociale). Serendippo with its educators and artists supported the activities of the project partners during the entire course of Fuoriserie, with the aim of ‘being and living together’ places and spaces. This made it possible to listen, connect, and return the whole of the experiences and activities carried out. The idea underlying the work is that an artistic process has meaning and nourishment only if it is lived in time (contemporary) and place (conterminous) and only if it is the result of a shared process during which each individuality and diversity becomes a resource and complement to generate a sustainable, public and, as such, collective vision and liveability.
TIMPANO saw the children mapping stretches of the city on foot and photographing architecture, colours, footsteps, details that resonated with them at that moment. This experience gave rise to the idea of creating a small, diffuse exhibition that questions the gaze of the other on the other and of art on art.
