Each Leaf a Sound is a collaboration with the Associazione Odeporica and takes Royle’s work out of the studio and into two unique locations in Crespina - L’Oratorio di San Rocco and the Chiesa del vecchio San Michele.

The tiny church of San Rocco will offer an intimate, multi-sensory experience including original music composed by Benson Taylor, while the Cappella della Madonna del Rosario in San Michele will exhibit paintings made in dialogue with the distinctive interior and exterior of the ancient church.

Each Leaf a Sound is the artist’s carefully curated response to the surrounding nature and the distinctive architecture and decoration of these two hidden sacred spaces which themselves embody a part of the history and the customs of a small village tucked away in the Pisan hills.
