On the occasion of the Twenty-first A.M.A.C.I. Contemporary Art Day, the new exciting 2025 exhibition Portraits | Portraits will be available at the gallery dedicated to her by Studio d'Arte Astrid Nova in Pergine Valsugana, a retrospective dedicated to Maria Giovanna Speranza, a great artist from Trentino who recently passed away. Maria Giovanna Speranza boasts a rich curriculum of exhibitions in her native Trentino, as well as beyond the region and even overseas: from the MUSE Science Museum in Trento to the Lombardy Region, from the Magnifica Comunità di Folgaria to Tunis, from Palazzo Thun in Trento's historic center to Hollywood, Santa Barbara, and Pasadena, California.
The exhibition is titled PORTRAITS | PORTRAITS, and as the title suggests, it showcases a wonderful selection of Speranza's masterful works on the theme of portraiture, featuring majestic knights in an enchanting atmosphere evocative of ancient times, contemporary faces with a vaguely pop touch, and special tributes to some of the great painters of the past who particularly interested the artist.
Under the careful and meticulous curation of her daughter Viviana Puecher, also an artist, who now manages the studio and the adjoining exhibition gallery dedicated to her mother, a wonderful little exhibition unfolds, a gem of Trentino painting, unmissable and unlikely to be repeated.
In connection with the exhibition, her daughter and artist Viviana, who is well aware of her mother's passion for portraiture, will also be holding a special workshop, Drawing a Face, which will guide participants through the basics of creating a pencil and charcoal portrait.
