In 2021, the De Chiara De Maio Foundation launched the cultural program Colori, created and curated by Valerio Falcone.
It is designed as a long-term initiative that showcases a carefully chosen group of artists whose work engages and captivates audiences over several months: painters, sculptors, ceramists, intellectuals, and photographers bring the regional cultural scene to life through solo exhibitions held every three months.
The program’s title, Colori (Colors), alludes to the rainbow, a symbol that has become deeply rooted in the collective imagination, particularly since the challenging global context of 2020.
In the 2025/2026 biennium, Colori reaches its fourth edition. The artist Maria D’Anna will open this year’s program with her solo exhibition ALTO-VERSO (HIGH-VERSE) from September 27th to December 9th, 2025.
The site-specific project explores the intersection between the sensory sphere and epidermal perception, characterized by a horizontal movement, in contrast with the pursuit of the absolute and elevation, which instead manifests in a vertical motion.
Among the ten paintings on display, the video art installation, an integral part of the project and inspired by Luca Giordano’s Traditio Clavium, creates a dialogue with the Neapolitan artist’s painting that can be seen in the Foundation’s Modern Art gallery.
On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, on the occasion of the XXI edition of the Contemporary Art Day, the exhibition will be open, free of charge, from 09:30 to 12:30 and in the afternoon by appointment, by contacting segreteria@fondazionede.it or by calling the number +39 3756043550.
