Descrizione

“Resonance” is an exhibition by Alice Re, curated by Giovanni Pelloso. It will be on display from 16 September to 11 October 2025 at Lab 1930, an exhibition space dedicated exclusively to contemporary photography, located at Via Mantova 21 in Milan. This is the first solo exhibition of this talented young artist, born in 2002, who joins the gallery's roster of represented artists with this exhibition.

The exhibition marks the launch of Lab 1930 YOUNG, an annual event through which the gallery aims to provide an emerging artist under the age of 27 with the opportunity to engage with the art market.

On display are eleven works in various formats from the 'Resonance' series, as well as fourteen moving images that run on a loop. Having won an artist residency in Japan in 2024, Alice Re seized the opportunity to further develop her artistic sensibility through her encounter with an extremely beautiful natural landscape and a culture rich in references and meanings.

Through a blend of still and moving images, Alice Re transports us to uncharted territories. She immerses us in a suspended atmosphere, leading us out of time and into places that are difficult to identify. Her images convey memories, resonances and echoes, but above all, a profound sense of harmony with ourselves and the world around us.

In the introductory text to the exhibition, Giovanni Pelloso writes:
"Forgetting the hurry of the day, the dense and noisy daily routine, and renouncing all haste opens up a passageway free of questions, anxieties, and fears. This leads us to approach that emptiness where new seeds germinate. Stop. Detach oneself. Then, the seemingly useless interval between a before and an after bursts forth in that fraction of silence which usually escapes the over-involved and stimulated mind, colliding with consciousness.
Landscapes and faces lead to this inexhaustible moment."

To mark the exhibition, the photobook "Hibiki", featuring texts by Alice Re and Alvise Crovato and published by Corsiero Editore of Reggio Emilia, will be released. It documents the works of Alice Re, Matteo Colella and Alvise Crovato, who were artistic companions during their residency in Japan.
