The temporary exhibition HUMAN, featuring works by Salvatore Anelli, Francesco Minuti, and Tarcisio Pingitore, is part of the project CALABRIA CALLING | CONTEMPORARY CO-EXISTENCES which, starting from the National Gallery of Cosenza, embodies the will of the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Calabria to promote, in a scientific and structured manner, the work of many living Calabrian artists,
offering them a critical, as well as physical, space in which
to express themselves. Each artist makes their voice heard and exhibits their works in coexistence with the others, maintaining their autonomy, but at the time opening themselves up to comparison, dialogue, and the experience of resonance.
HUMAN presents itself to the viewer as a succession of works
with a distinct stylistic signature, characteristic of the poetics of each individual artist, linked together to create a stirring of the soul and an ever-new upheaval of the mind.
Anelli, Minuti, and Pingitore put Man at the center, his existence, his action, his being the driving force of the world. Hence the title of the exhibition, which highlights their commonality, leaving the exhibition to highlight their
peculiarities, originality, and unique, personal essence.
In the artists' works, the human experience is either celebrated starting from its remnants or stripped down to the bare bones; its greatness and terribleness are observed in an aseptic and surgical manner, and then we look into its eyes with love and pity, wondering if there can still be
redemption; if the Winter of actions can transform into a
Spring of the heart.
The exhibition is coordinated by Fabrizio Sudano, Director
Delegate of the Regional Directorate of National Museums of Calabria, and curated by Rossana Baccari, Director of the National Gallery of Cosenza, and Melissa Acquesta, Art Historian Officer of the DRMN Calabria.
